Overpack

The overpack must be labeled as follows (unless all labeling of all hazardous goods contained therein are clearly visible):
  • with all the markings of all the dangerous goods
    • Danger labels, which occur several times, have to be reproduced only once.
    • If the overpack contains more than one UN number, the amount of dangerous goods for each UN number must be given.
    • Arrows must also be affixed to overpacks with single packages.
  • with the word "Overpack"
    Text size min. 12 mm
  • if the shipment consists of more than one overpack…
    • with an identification marking,
      such as 1/3 2/3 3/3
    • as well as with the total amount of dangerous goods contained
  • With details of sender and recipient

An enclosure used to contain one or more correctly marked and labelled packages for convenience of handling.
