ACS
Advisory Committee on Sustainability
The purpose of the Advisory Committee on Sustainability (ACS) is to provide a forum for the academic program, facility planning, and campus operating interests in sustainability. By increasing awareness of the members strengths in these areas, and identifying areas for further improvement, the campus continues to define itself as a leader in the earth sciences, while employing the principles of environmental stewardship in its own operations.
Sustainability can be defined as the ability to meet the needs of the present while living within the carrying capacity of supporting ecosystems and without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
ADI
Limit that indicates the amount of a substance that can accept a consumer and daily life with no apparent damage to the health. The ADI is obtained by dividing the NOAEL by a safety factor of at least 100 If the NOAEL for example, at 1500 mg / kg body weight, then runs a for man from acceptable daily intake of 15 mg / kg body weight.

ASEAN
The ASEAN Charter serves as a firm foundation in achieving the ASEAN Community by providing legal status and institutional framework for ASEAN. It also codifies ASEAN norms, rules and values; sets clear targets for ASEAN; and presents accountability and compliance. It will also be registered with the Secretariat of the United Nations, pursuant to Article 102, Paragraph 1 of the Charter of the United Nations. Organization 3 communities / sections: Political Security, Economic, Socio-Cultural.

CLP
The CLP Regulation (for 'classification, labeling and packaging') is the basic EU law, which regulates the classification, labeling and packaging of substances and mixtures in the European Union (EU) or the (EEA).
CLP and GHS
The EU CLP Regulation adopts in modified form the legalized Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) (GHS) system of the United Nations (UN). The GHS system (Globally Harmonized System of Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Chemicals), in turn, carries the needs of the globalized world community statement, a single system to classify chemicals, including labels and safety data sheets to establish. Therefore, the terms CLP and GHS (or system) are used interchangeably. The CLP Regulation knows - as opposed to REACH - no thresholds, making even the smallest quantities gültig. CLP Regulation provisions shall apply only from the marketing of the substances or preparations (REACH regulates production)..
CLP GHS Fristen
The EU GHS system for materials from 01 December 2010 be compulsory, for mixtures (compounds used) from 1 June 2015. The previously valid classification and labeling system of EC Directives 67/548/EEC (Dangerous Substances Directive) and 1999/45/EC (DPD) is the first June 2015 invalid..
CLP Regulation
CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 of the European Parliament and the Council of 16 December 2008. On classification, labeling and packaging of substances and mixtures, amending and repealing Directives 67/548/EEC and 1999/45/EC, and amending Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 Legislation section 2 CLP / GHS classification: Information page for the EU CLP system and the GHS system.

GHS
"Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals"
GHS HXXX
GHS Hazard Statements,
categories...
Physiscal H2 (XXX)
Health H3 (XXX)
Environment H4 (XXX)
XXX stands for 3 hazardous material specific digits
GHS PXXX
GHS Precautionary Statements, categories...
Prevention P1 (XXX),
Response P2 (XXX),
Storage P3 (XXX),
Disposal P4 (XXX)
XXX stands for 3 hazardous material specific digits
GHS Signal Words
Globally Harmonized System Signal Words.
Two codes in use...
Danger = Greater Hazard Potential,
Warning = Lower Hazard Potential
GLP
GLP quality system of the OECD, which governs the scientific examination of chemicals formally. The GLP makes the results of studies as transparent and accountable as each intermediate step. In the EU and many countries of the world must demonstrate laboratories and research institutions to the Grundsätze GLP keep a. These include standards for organization, personnel, space, Pruf and reference substances, work instructions, earnings reports, and archiving.
HCS
HCS Hazard Communication Standard, USA.
On March 26, 2012, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) modified its Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) to conform to the United Nations’ (UN) Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS).
The revision improves consistency and quality of information that is provided to both employers and employees concerning chemical hazards and protective measures related to chemical hazards. The former HCS Version is from 1994 , and the actual Version 2012

ITSA
Independant investigation boards of the United States, Canada, Sweden and the Netherlands combined to form the International Transportation Safety Association (ITSA) at Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. Nowadays ITSA is composed of 14 independent investigation boards from various countries. ITSA was founded on the notion that independent non-judicial investigations of transportation accidents contribute significantly to the safety of the travelling public and the environment as well as that there is a need for an international organization, that brings together accident investigation agencies in all modes of transportation.
The mission of ITSA is therefore to improve transport safety in each member country by learning from the experiences of others.

SDS
Safety Data Sheet.
SDS stands for the safety data sheet (The GHS has dropped the word “material” from material safety data sheet. It will now be called the safety data sheet or SDS) is specifically aimed at use in the workplace. It should provide comprehensive information about the chemical product that allows employers and workers to obtain concise, relevant and accurate information that can be put in perspective with regard to the hazards, uses and risk management of the chemical product in the workplace.
The GHS SDS headings, sequence and content are similar to the ISO, EU and ANSI MSDS/SDS requirements. The SDS should provide a clear description of the data used to identify the hazards. There is a table comparing the content and format of a current MSDS/SDS versus the GHS SDS provided in Appendix A of the OSHA GHS guidance document available at their website www.osha.gov
Please note: The European Union has not regulated the issue "Safety data sheet" within CLP-guidelines, it has regulated it within REACh-guidelines. (regards to content).
UN-No

WHA
World Health Assembly (UN WHO Geneva) is the decision-making body of WHO. It is attended by delegations from all WHO Member States and focuses on a specific health agenda prepared by the Executive Board. The main functions of the World Health Assembly are to determine the policies of the Organization, appoint the Director-General, supervise financial policies, and review and approve the proposed programme budget.
WTO
WTO is the multinational organization for global trade, run by its member governments. WTO agreements require governments to make their trade policies transparent by notifying the WTO about laws in force and measures adopted. The WTO agreements cover goods, services and intellectual property. They spell out the principles of liberalization, and the permitted exceptions. They include individual countries’ commitments to lower customs tariffs and other trade barriers, and to open and keep open services markets.
