Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR 2023)

10. Exemptions (4/8)

What are limited quantities (LQ)?

In the ADR, limited quantities claim partial exemption from transport regulations.
The quantity limit applicable to inner packages is defined for each substance in column 7a of Table A, found in Chapter 3.2.

What should I do?

Go to the list of dangerous goods and look for the dangerous good by UN number - then look for the maximum permitted quantity in column 7a. Taking acetone as an example, you would have LQ = 1 L, i.e., a maximum of 1 L can be packed in the inner packaging units, and the gross mass of each combination package must not exceed 30 kg.
