The following provisions have to be made to prevent theft or abuse of dangerous goods by unauthorized persons:
All people involved in the transport of dangerous goods must attend to the security requirements that pertain to their responsibilities. Note the following rules:

  • Check the carrier's identity before the handover of goods (ID card with photo and commission documents, ask in case of uncertainties)
  • Secure sensitive areas and protect them against public access
  • All people involved must receive security training for dealing with dangerous goods
  • Security plans are mandatory for High Consequence Dangerous Goods with high potential for misuse (Def. ADR page 1.10.3)
