Construction and Testing of Packagings

Testing of packagings
Prior to being used for transport almost all packagings (including IBCs) need to be tested according to UN standards:
Drop test (all packagings) |
Minimum drop height: PG I: 1.8 m PG II: 1.2 m PG III: 0.8 m |
Stacking test (all packagings except bags/sacks) |
Minimum stack height: PG I-III: 3 m |
Leakproofness test (all single packagings for liquids) |
Minimum leakproofness pressure: PG I: 30 kPa PG II - III: 20 kPa |
Hydraulic pressure test (all metal, plastic and composite packagings for liquids) |
Minimum hydraulic pressure: PG I: min. 250 kPa PG II - III: Dependent upon vapor pressure of content |
