6. Packing of Cargo Units (5/11)

Prepacking Requirements - Information/Application

It is the shipper's responsibility to provide relevant transport information.
The shipper shall provide the following information for each Dangerous Good to the transporter:
  • Proper Shipping Name (PSN)
  • Class(es) and/or division(s)
  • UN Number and Packing Group
  • Total quantity of dangerous cargo
  • Number and type of packages
If part of a Dangerous Goods transport is by sea all provisions of the IMDG Code shall be applied to packing, documentation, marking and labelling, regardless of requirements of other transport regulations (ADR, RID, etc.)
